Moving Made Easier!

moving

Hello all!

I apologize for my lack of posting but I’ve been moving and dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Speaking of –half the sales of Writer’s Retreat New York City will go to the relief fund so be sure to download a copy!

Now my move has been quite a headache, but I wanted to tell you about a company that made it less so. My Moving Reviews made finding a GOOD and HONEST moving company much easier. After the issue I had with the movers trying to get toll money from my parents after being paid to drop off my things I needed serious help.

The website not only offers reviews, it’s a non-stop shop for everything that has to do with moving. From moving out-of-state to internationally (like I will soon be doing) they will be able to assist you. I just wanted to share this with you as fellow travelers. I know most of us have to sell all of our things each time we move on, but this service will make the process simpler for when you decide to bring along your keepsakes, trophies and well family.

You can visit the site if you need a quote or want to research for an upcoming move. Be sure to tell them I sent you!

Best,

J*

Custom_dress_shirts_blue (2)

Discovered a great gift idea for that special man in your life! My dad’s bday is coming up and I had no clue what to get him. He is a dressy guy. Seriously he mows the lawn in old dress pants. Luckily I discovered a site that where you can custom order your dress shirts.

ShirtsMyWay.com is a brilliant site that allows you to design your own top covers.

According to their site ShirtsMyWay.com is an innovative technology platform that lets users design over 7 trillion different men’s dress shirts in a way that’s unique and intuitive. It breaks down the dress shirt into components, which users can customize in both shape and fabric. Furthermore, it also guides users in specifying measurements for a custom tailored fit. It is becoming an entirely new way of looking at customization.

With the holidays coming up we will definitely visit ShirtsMyWay.com to order a few for your faves. Oh and be sure to sign up for their private sale offers!

Having major accessories envy. Spotted this girl checking out while I was on my shopping trip at Loehmann’s and had to snap a quick pic. Her bag is Marc Jacobs, need to get one this weekend.

My friend was inspired to make an MJ purchase that day and was lucky enough to get these earrings on sale!

Out & Fitted ~ Uptown & Downtown NYC

Today’s Out & Fitted post is a double. It was so hot outside that I needed an outfit change.

Wore a vintage dress and comfy sandals from Anthropologie to meet a friend for lunch at Gracie Mews Diner in Yorkville. We’re both Jersey girls and need our diner fix every so often. Love their chicken fingers.

Nearly melted on the subway so I had to change into my trusty vest from Zara, Banana Republic rosette skirt and Aldo clutch. I headed downtown to meet up with some friends at a listening party at Ella Lounge on Avenue A, then grabbed a bite at The Meatball Shop. The Meatball Shop gets really packed so we took our orders to go and had an impromptu picnic on the benches across the street.

First day of summer was a success!

Bloggers Do It Better~ Mint + Coral

And the moment you’ve all been waiting for…

My Bloggers Do It Better Picks!

Coral Whirl

Masked in Mint

I was so excited when I saw the colors were mint & coral, two of my favorites for the summer. I already had these tops in my closet and I planned on purchasing mint & coral pants this month. I was inspired by Alba’s outfit.

Jessica Alba in Coral

I opted for a mint pair from H&M to match my vintage blinged out top and complement coral blouse from Bolton’s on the UES.

My nude Franco Sarto heels toned down my coral whirl and my satin coral flats

from Nine West gave my lower half extra pop. Both looks just needed one piece of jewelry, my favorite necklace from Anthropologie.

Both looks are appropriate for day or evening, but I assigned Coral Whirl for an afternoon outing & Masked in Mint for a dinner party– along with a matching glass ; )

Thoughts on my picks? Need more inspiration? Check out my mint & coral collection on Lyst.

Photos were taken by my friend Rae who like Kristina just graduated from med school!

Shop Hop NYC~ Loehmann’s

Went shopping today to get the final touches for Pretty Shiny Sparkly‘s Bloggers Do It Better challenge. This is my first challenge and I’m super excited to participate. I’ve always oohed and aahed the outfits from past BDIB challenges.

Met my friends at Loehmann’s and began my search with my fingers crossed. It must have worked because Loehmann’s was stocked with mint and coral accessories and clothing.

Can’t wait to reveal my outfit tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Outfit Envy~Chelsea By Way of Milan

I spotted their scarfs from across the room and I just had to introduce myself. These lovely boys were visiting from Milan, hence the fabulous-ness. The clothes are actually from H&M, but the accessories and adorableness are imported.

Out & Fitted~ 230 Fifth NYC

Had a wonderful Girls’ Night this weekend. We went to 230 Fifth in Chelsea. Great views, strong drinks and loud music, what more do you need?

Wore a Collective Concepts dress that I bought last Spring from Yamak on W. 23rd and never wore. Definitely broke it in, wouldn’t you say?

See Spots ~In a good way with polka dot shorts

Accosted this girl while she was attempting to order a brownie and latte. While everyone else wore outfits that matched the dreary weather. She remained cheery in polka dots. The shorts are from Japan. (Really need to head over there!) But you can find similar ones here and here.

My sister’s prom was last week. We went to see her off and take pics of her entering the venue. I was distracted by this adorable duo. Asked him where he purchased his awesome jacket. But he said and I quote “A true diva never reveals their sources.”

Currently shopping for the perfect travel tote for my upcoming trips and I came across the Fashion Foie Gras Tote for Coach. “Hazaah!!!” I yelled at my laptop monitor, startling my coffee shop stool neighbor. But I quickly came down from my high when I saw that it was sold out. Sad face. Will definitely be on the look out for a replacement.

Stylish Luggage That Won’t Break The Bank

Hannah from Girls HBO rocking the trash bag

I was watching one of my favorite shows last night Girls on HBO (if you don’t know about it–you better ask somebody!) when to my horror Hannah (played by Lena Dunham, who also writes and directs the show and is my current girl crush) rolls up to greet her parents at the airport with a trash bag!

Maybe if it was this one…

No matter how broke you are you should never have to rock a trash bag at the airport. I’m here to see that you don’t. Check out a few travel bag picks that won’t break the bank.

You can follow updates to my travel shopping list on Wanelo and Pintrest.
