Beauty & Marqueed

Marqueed Beauty

Yesterday I wrote about how I’m using Marqueed to learn to take better photos. Today I wanted to spotlight how another blogger or should I say vlogger is using the platform.

Minette of Learn Minette is a big fixture on YouTube with her informational uploads that make you feel as if she’s talking to you right in your own living room.

Here is my interview with the Beauty about Marqueed.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging for about a year.  I usually blog about makeup I love using, images of makeup of the day looks, and share personal experiences that link to my passion for makeup.  But mostly, you can find most of what I do on Instagram and YouTube.  I keep up with those sites a lot more than my blog.

Where do you usually find inspiration for your work?

Most of my inspiration comes from beauty channels I watch on YouTube.  Michelle Phan and Kandee Johnson are just two of my role models.  They started with simple home videos and offered tutorials to women and girls.  Now, they’re some of YouTube’s most prominent beauty gurus.  They are not only so knowledgeable about the beauty industry, but, they are so completely driven.  They carry their passion with such integrity and they are so inspirational.  I love watching them from how they began their passion to where they are now.  They are such positive role models for women of all ages.  Other forms of inspiration come from images I see on Instagram.  I’m such a visual person.  Instagram is great because you simply look at photos.  I follow a lot of beauty lovers and they inspire me so much.  I’ve immersed myself with beauty and fashion images.  I love what others’ are doing and what makeup they like to play around with.  Sometimes even someone’s outfit could inspire a makeup look.  I’ve met such wonderful women on these sites who share in the same interests.  It’s so exciting to be around others with this commonality.  I absolutely love this community and the women who are just as willing to share and learn new information.

What do you like about Marquued?

Since I am such a visual person, I love the idea of focusing on images and be able to create discussions.  I also love the idea of being able to share visuals so quickly.  I love that you can focus on one picture and pinpoint one area to create a conversation.  This can be so much fun (and addicting)  Most of all, it’s quick and easy.  When I watched the tutorial on Marqueed, I was hoping it wouldn’t require too many steps and it doesn’t.  It’s very user friendly which is great!
Where can we find more of your work besides on Margueed?

Learning to Take Better Photos Using Marqueed

IMG_8008

It’s been a few weeks since I purchased my Canon PowerShot SX260. Practicing with this point and shoot has definitely made me more comfortable behind the lens.

I haven’t had time to sign up for an actual course or photography workshop, but I’ve discovered the next best thing-the Marqueed App!

My friend and talented photographer Peter J. Kruczek  has been providing me with mini-photography lessons through a collection that I created and shared with him on Marqueed.

Before

This was picture that Peter took in 2010. He uses it as an example of a good shot that can become a great shot with a few tweaks.

After

After a few tweaks Peter turned it into a great shot.

Looking forward to my next lesson!

Once I’ve upped my photography game I’ll be able to share and present my photos to future employers privately or publicly. You can check out my collection here.

You can also sign up for a free account and create your own.
